Alex Wurman

Emmy & Oscar Award Winning Film Composer

Composer Alex Wurman picked up a big win during the 2010 Creative Arts Emmys. Wurman’s music for HBO’s Temple Grandin took top prize in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or Special field. Wurman’s inspired score enriched the acclaimed biopic, which follows the life of autistic pioneer Temple Grandin.

Alex Wurman has displayed a broad musical palette: the eerie, sparse piano melodies of Confessions of A Dangerous Mind, the lush 85 piece orchestral chases of Hollywood Homicide, avant-heartland score to the Emmy nominated HBO film “Normal." Groovy ‘70’s themes for the outrageous comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, contemporary interpretations of French impressionism for Thirteen Conversations About One Thing and soulful melodies combined with ethereal orchestrations for March of the Penguins, in which the music gives voice to the characters.

See Alex Wurman's latest work in the comedy "Four Christmases" starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon released in theatres November 26th. Upcoming projects include the drama "What Doesn't Kill You" (starring Ethan Hawke and Mark Ruffalo) and The comedy "Five Dollars a Day" (Starring Christopher Walken and Sharon Stone).
