ARTIST ROSTER
Dancey Rock/Rocky Dance
L'Rationale was formed when Anthony Roman wrote a few dance songs for his band Radio 4 and then decided the tracks would be better suited for a female voice and less of an indie rock approach. Having heard about a young Dubliner stationed in Ditmas Park with an impressive array of anolog synths, Roman approached Don Caraway's studio door with these new songs in tow. Caraway noodled, and tinkered and well, noodled and tinkered. The final piece of the puzzle was handing off the finished music tracks to the elusive, smoky voiced, Gabriella Zappia, who Roman knew from her days in The Flesh. The two friends had re-connected by chance in a South Slope bar. Luckily, Gabriella was bandless and bored and ready to go. A few weeks later they hooked up with longtime cohort Eric Emm (Tanlines, Brothers) who programmed a bit and mixed. The final conoction is something slightly clubby, slightly poppy and all original...something that wouldn't be out of place on any of today's leftfield dance labels. KBV records released their debut L'Rationale on vinyl last year. Stay tuned for more!
