About Thwak! Music
We generally sleep about 3 hours each night, usually in wooden chairs. This is the hardest working team in show business.

DJ/Producer/A&R - Music Supervisor
Brooklyn-born, but LA-dwelling for the past decade, Chris Tarantino returns to NY to work for Thwak! After only owning a smattering a tapes gifted to him by his grandparents (along with a sweet vintage boom box) until high school, Chris developed a voracious appetite for music which continues to grow to this day.
He began his musical life as a DJ for his local college radio station at Penn State (a total non-hotbed of musical activity) & then continued in NY at various bars & clubs, many of which, if listed, would severely date Mr. Tarantino. After an internship in the PR/marketing department of seminal electronic label Astralwerks, Chris was a true dance music convert.
After moving to LA in 2001, Chris concentrated on his acting career and started studying comedy at the famed Groundlings Theater where he still performs whenever in LA. Over the next several years Chris would appear on numerous episodes of MTV's 'Punk'd', 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien' and in the indie feature films Loveless in LA, Screwball & his first leading role in Stuntmen co-starring Brandon Routh, Zach Levi & Dominique Swain. Though allegedly having gone "Hollywood" he continued to keep his ear to the ground with regular DJ gigs all over Los Angeles. He also briefly worked at Miramax before it folded under the famous 'Harvey Weinstein Reign of Terror' which he found rather amusing.
Since returning to NY, Chris has taken a spot on the roster at The Village Voice as a regular contributor to 'The Sound of The City' as a nightlife/music correspondent and photographer, has begun remixing with a partner under the name 'Morocco Junction' and returned to DJing in his favorite city. He also currently moonlights for long running dance music label Plant Music and continues to sporadically update his White Minstrel Show music blog. But of all of these accomplishments, Chris is most proud of having been a finalist in the "Best Moustache" category 3 years running in the World Beard & Moustache Championships (usually losing out to someone with clear technological assistance and/or an ethnic advantage). As always, thanks for listening and have a pleasant tomorrow.
